    Hard to evaluate. Without the gift it’s too expensive. But you normally don’t know if you want to promise, before seeing the hand. It isn’t dead if the opponents hand is empty, which is nice.

    Not sure when would be a good opportunity to go for the gift option. You’d be hoping for a card that’s useful to you and ideally that it’s better than what you have in hand. You wouldn’t want to take synergy pieces since they wouldn’t be relevant to you. I guess against midrange or control, you could take the top-end card and hope the replacement gift is weaker on average?
