Oof, that archery form hurts. You can tell they added the bow just for the photo op and that man’s probably never used one in his life.
I’m not an expert, but it looks like a machine gun with quite some recoil and it’s just sitting on a stump?
Just posing for a photo - they’re both air crew, so they’d normally be in a plane anyway.
Today this photo looks goofy but damn I hope it was designed to be this way in the 1940s.
Only the most sophisticated bow and arrows are used in this army
