Well duh. You’d have to be a pretty shitty propagandist to keep making pot-shots at a guy who’s no longer on the race.

I don’t care for Harris. However, since we live in a first-past-the-post two-party mess, I’ll continue voting progressively (and for ranked-choice if it ever gets put to a vote) in all my local/primary elections and voting for whichever candidate is running against Trump.

The US is falling into despotism regardless of the wishes of Marxists, which is why we are seeing increased support for fascism from the far-right as a consequence.

I’ll vote for someone who isn’t a cop (sorry prosecutor as if that matters), that isn’t complicit in genocide, that didn’t put trans women in mens prisons, that isn’t a total piece of fucking garbage. You voting for “lesser” evil isn’t pragmatic, its selling out your values.

Lmfao you people probably can’t even vote in my country and half of you have no idea what you’re talking about you consume news and don’t actually know what is going on here.

Vote locally is the best we can do, my state has fantastic democratic nominees in most elections things are getting better. Federally it is a different ball game but I’m still supporting this party.

On top of that, you have no interest in American success, you want chaos and suffering. Go fix your own shit holes

The VP is a pretend job, she hasn’t really done anything? I will be watching how she responds to Netanyahu’s visit, though.

She’s snubbing his speech so maybe???

lol she’s not snubbing Benji, she just can’t attend because of a scheduling conflict. Her office has reiterated that a private meeting between them will take place. Make no mistake, she is just as much of a Zionist as Biden even though she sheds more crocodile tears for Gazan children.

Biden would never let a scheduling conflict get in the way from a Bibi visit. I do think there’s a chance for a different approach.

But again, this is gambling. You might as well be telling me I shouldn’t buy lottery tickets!

It is not a pretend job. She is complicit. And even if it was, which is not, she has been side by side Biden supporting him as he carries out his genocide. Moreover, she is deep in AIPAC’s pocket. The fact that you believe there is any innocent Democrat in power is concerning.

Okay all true, but the VP is still a pretend job. Maybe not as much as it was before but the VP doesn’t actually have very much power. Unless the president is article 12’d amendment 25’d.

Yes, if she was actually innocent she would have been pushing to have Biden removed from office via the 25th Amendment so that she could take over his job and end the genocide as soon as possible. She’s a careerist and would never dare risk her own political career for something like that, so instead she’s meekly following along and making small gestures without committing.

But, even a careerist could see the benefits of being the US president that ended support for apartheid and genocide.

Don’t get me wrong, my expectations for US politicians are really low. It’s not like I’m donating money to her or anything, I’m just going to take a little bit of time to mail in a ballot because she might be less genocidal than Biden or Trump.

She’s not standing up against the genocide as Vice, but she literally hasn’t actually done anything to advance it either.

And that’s my red line - no doing genocide.

She will do more marginally reasonable rhetoric about Palestinian suffering while the material policy of 100% support for Israel will not be changed in the slightest. She wouldn’t have been the pick otherwise.

There’s a limit to how much she can push rhetoric before it causes a fundamental break within US society. Already we’re seeing unprecedented criticism of Israel and support for Palestinian resistance among USians, and the more she pays lip service to voters on this issue the starker the contradictions become between her words and her actions.

That’s not a bad result at all.

Has to do with bad crime lab evidence:

      https://www.sacbee.com/news/politics-government/capitol-alert/article233375207.html

"While the San Francisco Police Department was responsible for running the lab, not Harris’s district attorney office, a court ruled in 2010 that the district attorney’s office violated defendants’ constitutional rights by not disclosing what it knew about the tainted drug evidence.

Judge Anne-Christine Masullo wrote in her decision that prosecutors “at the highest levels of the district attorney’s office knew that Madden was not a dependable witness at trial and that there were serious concerns regarding the crime lab.”

Incorrect, Lemmy.world is extremely liberal and explicitly anti-Marxist, and sh.itjust.works leans conservative.

maybe ask why these communities have such a bad label slapped on them and why most of us see Chinese/Russian propaganda flowing from these instances

They have a “bad label” on the liberal instances like .world and sh.itjust.works, not everywhere. Additionally, you’re free to visit Hexbear.net, they are far more active during US daytime hours. Pretending it’s just “Chinese/Russian Propaganda” is baseless, like your claim that most Hexbear users aren’t from the US.

Who decided that this campaign to suppress the vote was worth running? Imagine being this bad at your job. Worse yet… what donkeys are taking money to run this? I’ve worked some worthless jobs, but Christ… I’d feel awful about myself every day. Maybe it’s the same people that run the unending scams?
