Crazy how they still haven’t figured out how to keep the whole city in the same timezone.

Those spacetime experiments came at a weird price.

Seeing the squared ringed buildings always bring back memories of SimCity on the SNES.

On two separate occasions I’ve had the good fortune to visit friends in Barcelona who lived in this part of the city. From my limited experience and as a very picky person, I have to say this city works very well, it is a vibrant and safe place to be. I love Barcelona.

Took me far too long to realize that each side wasn’t a pic from the same spot. Took looking at the cathedral for it to finally click.

Is this really “beauty”? Don’t get me wrong; Barcelona is awesome. But I see those “gated structures” and I think more of Judge Dredd 3D.

Yea this looks like a dystopian hellscape to me, especially the night shot.

I can’t imagine having to live in such cramped quarters.

Imagine the fart count you’re breathing on the daily.

      Cities are fucking awful.

These are Barcelona’s superblocks, and they are really cool, actually.

They’re walkable, mixed zoning spaces. The lack of cars means people are free to lounge and hang out in the community space in the middle, which does a lot for the alienation and loneliness modern people are increasingly feeling. Here (image) you can see people playing and being around each other. I think you can see some shops in the background, too.

I’m sure I would want to know a little bit more than I do, but I would love to live in one of these.

Here’s a vox article about them.
