I have very little experience and I’m looking to get a welder of my own.
What welder would you get and why? It can be any of the types, but try to back up why you’d pick that one.
Mig is probably the most versatile as well as easy to learn, but there no really one welder that can do it all. However if I could only have one I’d probably go with Tig inverter that can also stick weld. Tig welding is quite difficult to learn though.
ThisOldTony on YouTube gives reviews that I trust. The multi-process machines are the way to go, I think it comes down to the interface these days.
Ok sweet I’ll check him out thanks!
If I’m broke like usual, something like a Lincoln pro mig. That’s what I used with auto body work and some exhaust and headers. If I can really choose, pretty much anything from Miller. Their stuff just works and works really well. I learned to stick weld with millers and they are wonderful. I used a tig from them once, it was a dream too.
Same here. Thinking about buying a welder soon and would like to hear what the community recommends. Personally I want something versatile; able to MIG and TIG. I’ve heard ESAB makes good equipment.
I’m assuming for just getting into it a nicer mts would be a solid choice. But I just don’t know if any brands
