I’m confused. If conscripts don’t fight, what’s up with the stories of Russian men escaping conscription? Is it just a regular thing, that we just happened to relate to the current war?
They aren’t to be used on the front line. They still need soldiers to man the back lines and handle other stuff in the interior, like dig fallback trenches and all kinds of other things. They are supposed to fight and die if Ukraine comes into Russia though.
