64 years ago today, the order to assassinate Patrice Lumumba was issued by Eisenhower.
Patrice Lumumba was the first democratically elected prime minister of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (then known as the Republic of the Congo). He was assassinated on January 17, 1961.
Im pretty sure there were orders to attempt to assassinate Hitler so idk about this being the first one. And there were probably many more before 1945 too.
