Hey all, I have updated the menopause wiki! (it’s listed in the sidebar) I figured it was time for a refresh. I have expanded a number of different sections, to go into better detail about some of the more common symptoms (frustrations, like weight).
Also the Resource section contains better organized lists so it’s easier to find recommended books, essentials, links to research for various topics, etc.
I’ve kept it “research based”, in that I’ve compiled almost everything from reputable sources.
Please read through and let me know if you want to see anything else specifically, or if there’s any issues that need correction.
It talks about exercise not helping visceral fat but there is some evidence that suggest that High Intensity exercise does help
These data suggest that aerobic exercise is central for exercise programmes aimed at reducing [visceral fat], and that aerobic exercise below current recommendations for overweight/obesity management may be sufficient for beneficial [visceral fat] modification.
[High intensity Training] significantly reduced total abdominal fat (p<0.001), abdominal subcutaneous fat (p=0.034) and abdominal visceral fat (p=0.010)
Yet, maybe not as much after menopause Adding exercise to calorie restriction in postmenopausal women improved aerobic fitness, fat%, fat mass and lean body mass when compared to calorie restriction alone, but did not have statistically greater benefits on visceral adiposity, lipid profiles or glycemic control. Nevertheless, a need exists for further randomized trial studies on this topic.
I guess it’s not super cut and dry but maybe doing more higher intensity exercise may help with visceral fat? Can’t hurt
Thanks for sharing that…I’ll take a look!
