We’re working on some exciting new photography updates:
- Bigger Resolution (4K -> 8K)
- Resumable uploads (via webUI)
- Native AVIF, HEIC, WEBP support
- HDR support
- Preserve ICC profiles + EXIF
- New Compose UI
- Improved Location tagging
- New AI labelling + Anti-AI features
And much more!
We’re eager to ship this massive update and gather feedback on how we can make our platform even better for novice to pro photographers!
Spread the word ✨

@[email protected] Can you remove geolocation but keep other EXIF data?
@[email protected] Preserving exif is cool, but (optionally) displaying it in the ui would be even cooler. I like how flickr does it.
@[email protected] ❤️ pro photographer here 👋 where do you love to get feedback so it’s easy to collect and group for you?
@[email protected] Looking nice :) Any plans on supporting JPEG XL as well?
@[email protected] is C2PA validation possible?
@[email protected] this are great news!
May I suggest to add the possibility to use the federated emoji like Mastodon do?
I show you some used in the mastodon.uno instance
:fediverso: :mastodon: :pixelfed: :debian:@[email protected] you mean jetpack compose?
@[email protected] Would it be technically possible to statically host pixelfed instance on github webpages?
@[email protected] it’s interesting, I am looking forward to seeing the platform grow and evolve! My top requests are dark mode for the iOS app (I appreciate it’s still in TestFlight) and for some reason when I command-click on anything on the web it doesn’t open links in a new tab, which any other website does - very weird.
@[email protected] Great, especially regarding HEIC - which is what iPhones shoot by default. There have been rumours of Apple shifting to JPEG XL, which looks very promising - maybe you should look into that as well?
