They were great in Spain and Canada last year as well so I think it’s too early to tell. But it seems it’s much better handling wise now

Also to be noted that at canada, merc, aston and ferrari where within a few tenths of each other like they have been for several other races in the year.

Still too early to judge. But lots of positive noise coming from Mercedes about correlation. Bring it on!

It’s nice to see more competitive teams at the top, but realistically everyone is still at least 0.5 to 1.0 secs off Red Bulls racepace and as pointed out in the article RB are cruising and probably investing resources to next years car already.

It’ll be hard to catch up and compete, but I guess this is promising.
…now if the real Ferrari could please stand up?

Yeah, I don’t think they’ve even got the wick turned up on that RB other than for quali

Formula 1.5 is back with AM, Merc and Ferrari fighting for fastest loser, lol

Max has one race where he finishes with a bird in his brake duct and now teams think they’re catching up to red bull.

Idk, maybe they are but I’m not getting my hopes up yet

They aren’t even comparing to Max though. The only Red Bull mention in the article is saying they were fast enough to keep Checo behind over the duration of the race.

It has been a pretty great turnaround, but they still have a lot of work to go. I think their car is still slightly behind Aston on general race pace, but they are mostly ahead of Ferrari and competitive with Alonso.

Well the case with checo was not like the case with albon where they held checo by the skin of their teeth. Checo was genuinely the slowest of the top 6

Edit - What I mean to say is that they did not hold back a charging checo by just having enough pace to pip him, they were genuinely faster than him (as were the ferraris and Alonso).
