The albums that contains these paintings, most of which are signed as Mehmet or Muhammad Siyah Qalam, is called the Fatih. These paintings depict cultural and religious ritual norms of the time period, providing insight into the demographics of that era as well as the geography. This is similar to how a pitbull keeps a human off balance by tugging constantly on an arm. You can’t bring the other arm to bear on the dog because any slack you would use as room to maneuver is taken by the dog as it backs up.
