Some rockets landed near the city of Haifa, as Israel and Hezbollah appeared to be spiraling toward all-out war following months of escalating tensions.

Rockets? Don’t you mean missiles?
They do have precision guided missiles but didn’t use any in this attack… While AP does call them missiles in the article they are actually unguided heavy rockets.
And as I was trying to figure this out I discovered that most news sources use the words rocket and missile interchangeably, often in the same sentence, and it’s fucking infuriating.
Actually they ALWAYS say Israel has missiles and Hezbolah/Hamas has rockets. I believe they do this to make it seem like they are barbarians hiding behind a hill shooting off handhelds. I am sure they have more sophisticated systems and to keep reporting it that way is biased and inaccurate, despite whoever they might support. 🙈
I certainly don’t pay enough attention to say you’re definitely right but it certainly feels like the headline is always rockets. but how much of that is because it’s always rockets? missiles are far more expensive and Israel is pretty good at shooting them down so why burn that kind of cash?
But also, can you point to a case where it was actually missiles? because this isn’t it and I’m actually interested.
