I suppose that is what you get when you base your article on reddit opinions. Apparently a raspberry pi is one of the best gadgets I can get for my bike. If you say so xD
I search frantically on what they do with it but couldn’t find any example of it lol.
Build a ground projected laser spedometer. It’ll be heavy, bulky, and kind of effort intensive, but it’ll look neat!
I’ve only ever heard of it being used for some exotic DIY projects for a dashcam or livestreaming.
Like 0.000000000000000001% of cyclists might find a practical use for it, but hey, they’ve got affiliate links up, so might as well!
Most Useful Gadgets for Everyday Biking for Transportation and Exploring (assembled and written by a real person). No brand names used, intentionally.
- Phone mount (you can swap in a bike computer, but many people will be 100% okay with a phone)
- Suspension seat post. Your ass deserves to feel like it’s floating on a cloud.
- Trunk Bag w/ Battery Bank that always stays on the bike for emergencies, room for a sweater and the contents of your pockets.
- Front and rear lights of various brightness and flash modes. It’s nice to have the option a huge, bright flashlight in the woods, or a dipped beam headlight on a multi use path. I always run two taillights and a reflector at minimum.
- Tazer or similar, in case you live in a rough area or ride at night.
- Lock and backup locks.
- Bell, horn, or other noisemaker.
You can of course drag all this shit around with you. My suggestion is to get a bag and put your essentials in it and never take them out.
