Putting fruit on a delicious Italian treat is a crime against Italy, pizza and humankind.

It doesn’t work and mesh well with cheese tomato and the dough as it has that opposite fruity taste compared to the savoury delights of a cheese pizza.

Sweetcorn? I can get by that, mushrooms? You’re damn right I’ll put mushrooms and ham on my pizza but FRUIT?!

Absolute lunacy, don’t fall for the pineapple on pizza propaganda people

Right. I’ll take a ham and pineapple pizza (not my first choice, but fine by me), but I still know it’s relatively unpopular.

Pineapple on pizza is a natural pairing as the acidity helps cut the fattiness of the cheese. Hence why tomatoes work. Sweetness clearly isn’t an issue with pizza sauce, otherwise pizza sauce wouldn’t have added sugar compared to marinara. Pineapple functions in a similar way that tomatoes do, but this needs to be kept in mind when using Pineapple.

Pineapple belongs on pizza, but you need to accommodate it with extra cheese and perhaps another salty topping, hence the popularity of the Canada-born Hawaiian pizza.

Don’t act like pizza is such a sacred Italian thing anyhow. They couldn’t make it prior to the 15th century and it took Italian-American immigrants to New York, USA to perfect it anyway.

Edit: I see you previously asked about preferences between Domino’s and Pizza Hut, so I’m guessing you live outside of the Good Pizza Zones (the NYC Sphere of Influence and Napoli) so I understand why you’re so confused.

We used to have Sbarro out here. They were exactly the same as the pizza I got at some place called Rico’s when I was in NYC.

I can’t speak to the quality of pizza at this Rico’s joint but I would never eat at a Sbarro’s. If my options for pizza are Domino’s, Pizza Hut or Sbarro’s, I simply do not think pizza is on the menu.

This is an unpopular opinion community, not a blatantly false lies community. Please take this utter nonsense to the correct place. I feel both shame and disappointment on your behalf.

Also, corn on pizza is an abomination, this was obviously written by someone from Nebraska who has no sense of what a cultured, exotic fruit like pineapple could bring to their dreary lives of flat lands and grey skies.

Take my up vote anyways as sign of hope that you will one day experience true, sweet and salty Nirvana in your poor Midwestern mouth.

It can get worse. I have seen a “pizza georgia” with chicken and peach.
