I doubt many people have wifi 7 or will upgrade to it, I would gamble on fewer actual wifi 7 +ps5 users than disc drive users. The ssd is probably just some super marked up basic unit nobody would buy if it was on a shelf.
Put both under a one or two screw cover plate and use standard connectors for them and ship with the cheapest shit that doesn’t degrade performance, while letting the power users install the upgrade at whatever price they find. Sony would still charge just as much for that though, and use it as a reason not to honour warranty claims.
Wifi 6 took AGES to get adoption, and 6e even longer. As soon as wifi 7 dropped APs were available left and right.
I feel 7 will quickly overtake 6, but good ol 5/AC will take a while to beat. Plus wifi 6 (no e)was kinda a waste of time 6ghz 6e was the actually good one, and that’s built into 7 standard.
