    If you take just the upper right corner of the Czech flag, you get the battle flag of France.

      You kid, but there was a real battle flag of France, the Oriflamme and from 1643 the flag of France was really white, albeit with fleurs de lis all over it.

      Furthermore the French army, historically got far more wins than capitulations. The meme of surrendering being based on the second world war.
