Sinclair Spectrum or Commodore 64?
My first computer was a Sinclair ZX81. I had it about a year before I switched to a Sinclair Spectrum and a couple of years later I moved on to Sinclair QL.
Some friends of mine had a Commodore 64. They were more expensive, better hardware, but less accessible when it came to programming, IMHO, at least using Basic. So my friends did more gaming and I did more programming.
Did you have any of these? Which camp were you in?

I stuck with Commodore throughout: VIC20 > C64 > C128 > Amiga.@[email protected] Commodore 16 with datasette ✌️

@[email protected] Zinclair ZX80, which I upgraded to ZX81 (new processor and a new “keyboard” to place on top of the ZX80 “keyboard”).
@[email protected] I had a school friend with a C64. I would go round his house, and we we would load a game… Then go out and play on our bikes or something for a while, waiting for it… Then go back, hoping that the game was loaded up ready to play. And not the dreaded !!LOAD ERROR!! screen…

@[email protected] Spectravideo 728. MSX was probably the first home computer standard, big in Japan, but less popular in Europe. However, it had a very good Microsoft Basic, and I learned to code with it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/SVI-728
@[email protected] Didn’t have an Acorn (used at BBC Micro at school) but had a Spectrum, a Commodore and an Amstrad.
