After my having 3 Sinclair computers, I moved on to Atari ST, for a week… before I switched it for an Amiga. At the time, Atari and Amiga were the big names in home computing, while those with more funds might have gone with a Mac or a PC.

    @[email protected] After my 8-bit Atari, I had no personal computer while at college. Was too busy with class work, and there was no broad access to the internet in those days. On the rare occasion I needed a computer, I used one in a dorm lab or drove home to the Atari. Bought my first Mac in ‘93, just before graduation.
