I’m getting an fpv quadcopter setup for myself for my birthday this year and I’m waiting for the drone to arrive. I’m super excited to fly for the first time. I’ve been practicing in a simulator and watching videos and researching to make sure I understand the tools, technology and regulation around the hobby. I’ve been completely absorbed for a month now and I’m going nuts waiting for this package to arrive. I haven’t felt like this since I was a tiny person probably. I’m super obsessed at the moment.
There is also a site for the hobby. If you have any questions, please post it there.
I fly FPV from 5 "to Tinywhoop. Lately I’ve loved to fly Tinywhoop. But in the apartment is analog enough for me. It’s easier and cheaper. Some examples: ;) https://pixelfed.de/p/stickbro/741949153279407169 https://fpv.social/@[email protected]/113429818122024106
I love it! I’ve really been enjoying my meteor 75 but I’m gearing up to go analog next, thinking about an air65. Trying to do those in-place flips with the meteor 75 and the walksnail is super tough. Air65 looks like it’ll be easier to fly in my house. Trying to figure out how I want to add an analog receiver to my goggles x is not as easy as I’d hoped though 🙄

This is the board for Google’s X. If you ordered from them they will send the board for free There’s a video on the page. With the Googles X, analogue is not quite optimal. The latency is higher than with proper analog Googles. But I never flew it like that. I have two Googles. I think 75mm is better. Almost everyone flies 75 for freestyle. The Air75 is great for the money. I just prefer 25000kv.
Which drone did you get?
BetaFPV Meteor75 Pro with walksnail, I got the RadioMaster Pocket and Caddx Goggles X. I wanted something I could fly indoors and I really wanted digital hd video and that seemed like it checked both boxes.

I used to have a similar one, they are tons of fun, especially when you also use goggles.
Gardening: I have set up my overwintering room for my citrus and other plants that are not frost-hardy. It’s unfortunately lacking in natural light because the big Southern facing windows are tinted so I had to install grow lights to compensate.
This year I’m overwintering:
- lemon
- lime
- Meyer lemon
- Satsuma
- 3 bush tomatoes
- 3 pepper plants
If things go well I can keep harvesting all throughout the winter :)
I tested an ISO 400 film strip that expired in 1990. Shooting it as ISO 50 produced the best results! Now just need something to shoot with the rest of it…

It’s been overcast and raining a lot here this week so I’ve been doing a lot of gaming in my free time. Finished GTA V for the first time after playing blind (I picked option C…I couldn’t harm either of my pals, or even any pedestrians! 😂) so now I’m playing retro games on emulators. I’m currently playing Super Mario Bros 3 for the SNES via the wonderful emulator that is ZSNES, it was the first game I ever played!
Nice!
Got back into armor to fight with swords for the first time since Pennsic. Plus I got to try out my new helmet.
