    Wow, finally.

I am so tired of having to disable it every time I have to reinstall windows on a system.

And nothing of value was lost. Can’t wait for the next turd they force on us.

Its such a shame they wasted that name on such a dud. An actually useful AI helper named cortana is a no-brainer for them.

I miss that era of Microsoft.

Cortana being insanely fun to use, Windows Phone existing, the future looking pretty cool.

Then Microsoft Microsoft-ed so hard they had to end it all

Is this missing a /s? I genuinely can’t tell. All I can remember from that era was people shitting on them for windows 8.

Metro was genius on Windows Phone. Not so much on Windows 8.

What was even worse than Metro on Windows 8 was Metro on Windows 2008. OMFG… the amount nervous breakdowns I’ve had when remoting a server in a window, trying to click the pixel in the bottom left corner to access the start menu.

There is still .NET which is best microsoft-made thing in existence IMO. And it’s open source.

        ish.

When programming I find it is often wrong both logically and in attempting to infer what I’m writing, on top of being slow.

It’s useful for generating documentation, but that’s about it in my experience. Maybe it’s just the Intellij plugin that makes it so slow.

I use windows boxes all the time every day and have since windows 3.1 and I’ve never used cortana.

I don’t know of anyone who has. Ever.

I used it once. When it first came out. When imaging 125 machines at once.

Just turned the volume up and let all the Cortana’s just yammer away at the same time.

      It was beautiful.

I then shut them all down and Reimaged them with an image that had it disabled by policy.

I tried to use it once and it didn’t work so I just forgot about it.

Still waiting for them to shutdown OneDrive, tbh it’s a thousand times more annoying than Cortana.

All of this could have been avoided if they hadn’t doubled down on Halo.
