It does not take much thinking to realize that green hydrogen, made from electrolysis of water using renewable energy, is a good idea. It is also pretty obvious that cost will come down as it scales up, potentially quickly if we take it seriously.
This is because all major inputs are renewable resources. Wind and sunlight don’t cost that much, and neither does water. Nor will any of those things run out. It is fossil fuels that are guaranteed to be expensive in time.
So anyone who goes around claiming that it will be “too expensive” are spreading pro-fossil fuel propaganda. Even the claim that hydrogen is a stalking horse for the fossil fuel industry is pro-fossil fuel propaganda.
That’s because the fossil fuel industry has long claimed that green energy is impossible. Everything green will magically give way to more fossil fuels. So saying any green energy is a conspiracy by the oil industry in fact makes you a stooge of the oil industry.
What is your take on the view that there is some pro-hydrogen propaganda from the fossil fuel industry as well?
(Given that most hydrogen produced today is not green hydrogen, but produced from natural gas.)
