Look, it’s crazy out here and I’m not gonna say the US justice system has a sterling reputation, but I think the normalization of vigilante justice / retribution is not the same thing as hoping rapists are charged and incarcerated for their crime.

Doxxing leads to swatting and reddit-boston-bomber mistakes. It is not proper justice.

Edit I’m trying to be a member of a more sane, more just future, and I dont see how normalizing things like doxxing, (just because they already happen, or sometimes happen to bad people) gets us there in any way.

Proper’s gonna be a lot to ask for in the coming years. Do you want justice, Y/N?

Bear in mind it’s fine to just not moan and lament when actual fucking Nazis suffer the vague implication that bad things might happen to them. You don’t have to be gung-ho about it to recognize it is not the same thing as when they do it to the at-risk minorities whom they want to round up and execute.

Justice yes. Vengeance/ vigilantism no. A lot to ask is what it is gonna take from us all over the coming years. You are right on that.

And to circle back, FUCK nick Fuentes. I am not just chirping up about this now because it’s “him”. I will happily decry doxxing of anyone, any politics.

Fuentes “deserves” the worst this earth can provide, in my personal heart. But that’s not a society. Him getting what I think he deserves is not justice. We have to hope laws eventually get him, long shot as it may be.

In the meantime, I’ll be looking after my friends and family, and using what little, tiny voice I have to try and not normalize political vigilante violence.

I accept you do not approve of this path.

People getting what they deserve is the only thing justice could be.

          Sometimes, laws cannot provide that.

I understand how you feel. It’s alluring, but it’s my opinion that following that path isn’t ok. You’ve made your position clear.
