Meh, they’ve been sliding down the hill for a while, at this point who cares when they go off the cliff.

still, just like I don’t care about red lobster, still gets under my skin whenever the gross corporate conglomerates further consolidate, especially with food or medicine. Oh well, better get used to it with what’s about to come…

It’s not like their subs didn’t suck ass.

I can’t believe they stayed in business. Worst subs I’ve had, worse than Subway even.

Not sure where you’re talking about, but Jersey Mike’s has been the best sandwich around for a long time. Subway has been complete shit for like 20 years.

          Jersey Mike’s is pretty solid.

Subway is heavily franchised and the quality is generally poor to average

Maybe it’s a location thing. Subway sucks ass, the Jersey Mikes here where I am makes a good Sandwhich.

I agree that they’re not great. They don’t suck ass but it’s not where I’d ever choose to go again. They’re alright at best.

Subway does suck ass. Probably due to their poor choices at almost every intersection.

Jersey Mike’s > Subway But both are not even in the top half for me.

And so begins the passing of the only place you can get a decent sub outside of the NYC Metropolitan Area.

Venture Capital buys up and coming, and thriving companies to lower the quality of their offerings while simultaneously increasing the prices, then increase the companies debt while opening more physical locations, until all are insurmountable to the ongoing business, and they go bankrupt.

Lol, that ain’t no decent sub. They sucked.

And there are plenty of places outside of NYC to get a good sub. Just not Jersey Mike’s.

New Yorkers, think they have a corner on everything. Smh

I mean really, Philly is the cheese steak capital, and you gonna claim NYC does it better??

NY doesn’t claim to have the the best Philly cheese steak, but it dominates in cold cut heroes. As far as hot heroes go, it’s also going throw down hard when it comes to meatball parms and chicken cutlet sandwiches. NY has some pretty bad cheese steaks, Philly can have that one. Also Pat’s and Geno’s may as well be rat meat. Not discounting the many good places but the tourist trap spots are atrocious.

Growing up in the NY area I was surprised and saddened when I found out that Delis are not available everywhere. It’s such a staple in NY. I remember having a chain/fast food hero for the first time and I was confused when they gently laid down 6 pieces of ham across bread and called it a sandwich. Then when they ring it up it costs just as much if not more as an Italian Combo that is stacked with like 1/2lb of boars head deli meats and imported provalogne.

Don’t get me wrong, other places have good Delis here and there, but the density of them is not the same. In NYC and surrounding area, there are several delis in every neighborhood. And they are all going to offer something that a Jersey Mike’s or Subway will never be able to measure up to.

This is the second time in the same thread you’ve tried to make that claim. You are wrong.

The worst cheesesteak sub I’ve had in my entire life was at Pat’s King of Steaks in philly. I know I went to the tourist trap but I assumed they would at least be able to make a decent cheese steak since they are apparently THE cheese steak place. It was god awful. Stale bread, chewy meat, fucking gross cheese wiz ladeled out of a vat, and absolutely no options to add any fixings whatsoever.

I can get a vastly superior sub at any pizza place where I live in MD.

Jersey Mikes is also decent. Though I’d say they’re only decent for a chain restaurant. I’d much rather get a sub at an actual deli somewhere.

Yeah they make their cheesesteaks with cheeze whiz. They have no place talking about sandwiches.

Funny thing is, the best cheesesteak I ever ate was on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, and I’ve eaten cheesesteaks in Philly. Granted, the owners were originally from Philly, so…

Jersey Mike’s is so expensive that me and my friends used to joke that you’d have to take out of mortgage in order to eat there.

That’s rather apropos now that Blackstone owns them
