Not much IS written because he left no memoir nor wrote an autobiography like basically everyone else we’ve ever heard of from the civil war. He was a great friend to old William Tecumseh himself, and didn’t want to be written about in his lifetime. He viewed what he did as a duty, not any cause for celebration. Sherman’s march would have been impossible without Thomas’ successes in the west.
