He thinks they were put there by a concerned citizen frustrated by the bad driving habits of their fellow, uh, Bouldarians(?). No, Google says people from Boulder are called “Boulderites.” I don’t like that. Bouldarians is better.

Suddenly, the article’s author, with a steel chair! I guess, rereading, the whole article’s pretty casual, but I just wasn’t expecting the first person pov.

Boulderites are like top 10 in the nation in fitness. That’s where Olympic athletes go to train, because of the low air density. Boulderites aren’t typical Americans. Source: grew up in boulder and live in a Midwest hellscape.

When i was little we would go on vacation to the south of france. People drove there like absolute maniacs. In one town there was a sign that said something like: if you drive 80kmh through here instead of 50kmh, you save 30 seconds. Is it worth to kill someone for 30 seconds? It was a big, official side on both sides of the town and it was there for a decade or so. I always wondered why things like that aren’t more common. I don’t think a lot of carbrains understand how little time you actually save when speeding and overtaking.

The ones they are most likely upset about are the one that said “Slow the Fuck Down” Because they are worried their kid might use a naughty word, rather than being worried about their kid being hit by a car.
