    They want these groups to exist, so that there’s a class of people that they can feel superior to

    But once society starts even slightly addressing the inequality in the most minor ways, they’re terrified that their ‘superiority’ is at risk and they can’t cope with that

      To a certain extent, I don’t even think it’s that. I think they are annoyed that instead of organically tying characters to different thoughts and different views, it just gets shoehorned in. I think it’s the same sort of thing when they have to throw an awkward trope or a love interest into a game where it doesn’t benefit the story by any means. I think a majority of these people feel that instead of organically tying these characters in, they are worried about Sony shoe-horning in what they consider woke/PC culture into something just for the sake of being woke/PC.

      That said, I really hope that they continue to show people of different views, ideas, and lifestyles in games, as “demystifying” the perspectives and lives of marginalized groups typically changes how people perceive these others outside of their typical worldview.
