One, and arguably the most draconian, of these is Directive 24, which was issued in July 2023 and casts all foreign cooperation as a national security threat amid the country’s increasing globalization.
There’s nothing draconian about it. Anti-communist western spies have abused the access granted to the UN and NGO staff for many decades. They’re right to be paranoid. They’ve seen it go bad in countries all over the world. That any non-capitalist government allows them in at all is a major risk to them.
If western orgs don’t like this, they should stop cooperating with oppressive western governments. Stop letting spies in with your staff.
