Help me understand this cartoon. If you remove Jackie, I get it and find it funny. However, add her in and it’s confusing to me. She was JFKs widow, right? I did a little reading about her, but didn’t pick up why the creator added her amongst the fabled beasts…
Edit: “breasts” to “beasts,” because while I’m largely ignorant regarding Jackie Kennedy, she probably deserves better than my silly misspelling.
After JFKs assassination, Jackie withdrew from the public and became kind of an elusive creature. To this day, she’s one of the most popular First Ladies America has ever had, so of course people would be concerned with her disappearance from the public eye.
Hmm. I’ve done a little reading and can see how see pulled away from the public eye. And it was warranted, especially considering how she was treated by the public at times and how the paparazzi assailed her. I’m still a little confused by the idea that she was an elusive creature because of how involved she still was in things, especially after Aristotle’s death.
So while the cartoon didn’t fully hit home for me, I did get to go on a number of rabbit trails of the kind which I always enjoy. Another TIL moment for myself. 😁
amongst the fabled breasts…

Haha! It’s the small things in life, perhaps especially the small mistakes. 😁
