Probably the best episode of the 3 so far. Laurence Fishburne is always a delight and he seemed to be channelling the more upbeat and wholesome variant of Bill Foster from Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur (Fishburne as Earth-199999’s Beyonder when?). The thing with each season only having the budget to grab a handful of returning actors to do the voice work is that you see a lot of just a few characters throughout and the cameos feel either a lot less impactful or a lot more impactful.
I had to turn on subtitles to consistently understand Alexei’s Bob Toledo’s lines. Bucky seemed too much like Bucky and not enough like the deeply brainwashed Winter Soldier during this. When did you realize that the Rook was Obadiah Stane? It clicked for me when he said “Howard Stark” the same way he said “Tony Stark built this in a cave… with a box of scraps!” in Iron Man 1.
The Rook was a surprise to me, but an obvious one in hindsight. Stane would have been a great build up villain for the whole Iron Man saga in a different universe.
In terms of voice actors I imagine it’s not too hard, assuming they sign on, as long as they have at least one episode focused on them. For example we got a quick Oscar Issac earlier in the season, so I assume we’ll get more of him later.
100% agree. Couldn’t get into the first episode. The second was absolutely beautiful, but really needed to be longer to flesh out the story. Episode 3 really felt much more cohesive to me.
Episode two is still my favorite, perhaps a bit rushed ending, but I do agree this episode did the best job telling a whole story. Easily could have been a film.
