Is the battery usage report useful for some of you or is it as useless as mine:
It’s useful for when it’s dying faster than usual and I need to find the culprit
Accubattery gives a plethora of useful information.
It’s entirely useless. Even more advanced views such as BetterBatteryStats or analysing a bug report only give minimally useful information.
The best you can do is disable shit you don’t need and measure what impact that has on power draw (usually measured in %/h).
Here is mine Samsung Android 14. Connect is not mentioned, but I believe it uses a significant portion of the battery.
What I find interesting is that I have not had Pandora open in almost a whole day.
Sometimes apps aren’t to blame for fast discharging rates: the quick discharging happens due to depleted battery health and/or low battery capacity. All the “Battery usage” does is to try and estimate the power consumption based on logical/software data, such as CPU time, I/O and IRQ rates, etc. It has no information regarding the physical battery consumption.
However, there are apps, such as Ampere and Wattz (this one is a FLOSS app), capable of showing information about battery health: how much charge the battery is currently capable of storing, how many power is currently being drained, what’s the current battery temperature, and so on. Perhaps it can help diagnosing battery issues.
Yeah actually I figured out that it was a network problem, it was trying to connect to 4g but the signal was blocked by the building I was in
Mine is useful and seems accurate. I just looked, and the top two apps are the ones I’ve been using for the past two hours. I have a Pixel 7 Pro. What phone do you have? Your numbers do seem useless.
It’s hit and miss for me. I remember it being better in previous Android versions and now it’s oversimplified.
I guess it would be nice if it compared usage over time too. Then one would know if there is something not normal.
