Yeah when I was in PC retail there was a whole thing about ANYTHING that contains a coin cell battery. RGB remotes, motherboards and a whole host of other devices required stickers / amendments to packaging. This is in Australia btw.
The law came in hard and fast, and lots of vendors were not willing to spend any time on sticking to the law. So… We’d stop buying from those suppliers until they’d do the minimum.
