My oldest just turned 9 and is interested in archery. I managed to find my Bear Cub compound bow from storage but it’s been a long time since I did anything like this.

Looking for resources first priority is teaching safety, second would be pointers for technique. Any and all advice is appreciated.

      I second this, no advice can be useful without a region. In the USA I would say Scouting America (formerly the Boy Scouts of America) is the go-to community. Where do you shoot? A club or your own private property?

    Get the Boy Scouts of America Archery Merit Badge book and work through it with your kid. Boy Scouts is supposed to start at 12, so it might be a little advanced, but you’ll be there to help. It has everything you need in it to learn archery the right way, and it’s cheap.

    Edit: here, I found you a PDF copy, although I’d still recommend getting the physical book.
