Depends on what’s available. Normally, I use either LibreOffice Draw or GIMP to get the images together; GIMP to mess with the colours and resolution; and Kdenlive (of all things) to add animated text.
If I only have my phone handy, however, I use Apple Photos to change the colours, and Canva to put everything together. Proprietary software is kinda sucky, but it’s all I have on my phone.
As for the images themselves, I usually just search “IMG_xxx” into Ecosia or LibreX until I find something that’s already a bit liminal or eerie; but I sometimes shoot them myself.
Also, when not using glitter text, I tend to go for red or orange Nimbus Sans. I also often use song lyrics for inspiration.
Hope this helps!
Also, yes, that is the correct way to mention communities.
#2 is sort of what I meant. Essentially, making it look like it was shot on a cheaper or older camera.
Really just personal preference, though.
I see you moderate [email protected] (is this the right way to mention communities?), what software do you use to create the images?

Thank you very much, I’ll try to create some images myself!
