Summary

Donald Trump has privately expressed annoyance with Elon Musk, despite their recent closeness.

Musk, a major Trump donor, has reportedly irritated Trump by his frequent presence at Mar-a-Lago and his bold interactions.

Trump dislikes the “President Musk” nickname and finds Musk’s assertiveness challenging, though he values Musk’s financial contributions.

According to insiders, their relationship is “fraught” but functional, with Musk’s influence limited compared to key advisers like Susie Wiles and Stephen Miller.

Peter Thiel must be sad. I wonder if he was the one who hired Milo to trash talk about Loomer to Trump to get her off the campaign trail.

Obviously Musk is the provider in this relationship, so Trump is the trophy bride.

He’s paid Trump something like $3M/day. I’ll put up with a lot of shit for $3M.

Although, now I think about it, after I’ve collected a few hundred mil, that next $3M probably wouldn’t seem so compelling.

Yeah, I bet he’s got Trump’s two brain cells both constantly firing at the same time. Complete overload.

Premise: Trump doesn’t like Musk and wants him gone, but doesn’t want to make an enemy of the world’s richest man

    Premise: Musk is still there

Conclusion: Even a man who loves firing people on TV finds it awkward to say “You’re cancelled” to someone who could buy the network.

It’s owned by a UK-resident Russian oligarch and a Gulf despot. It started as a centrist publication aspiring to high journalistic standards, not controlled by the usual media owners, since getting bought by Lebedev, it now has an incoherent political stance and veers from tabloid shite to occasional attempts at serious reportage. A real dog’s breakfast.

We already did this joke last time with Steve Bannon and it didn’t change anything.

Who’s to say if it didn’t change anything? If it keeps their camp in even slightly more disarray and distrust, the inefficiency in enacting terrible policies could save lives.

That said, I do think this time is a bit different since I believe Bannon is happy to play the role of sycophant, but Elon has a lot of ego going into this. Even with no outside pressure, Trump and Elon are going to have major personality clashes sooner than later.
