Seems unlikely that the original Reuters source described Indonesians as “his” people. It’s worth noting that Prabowo is an openly authoritarian former general who won the presidential election by posing as a cuddly uncle figure and dancing on TikTok. This looks like good news anyway. If “He” can really improve things and somehow find it in him to leave office when his time is up, then maybe it will be worth it.
