That climbing pole is awesome.
The cool thing about the winding technique I use is that I only have to secure the rope at the very ends with a few screws. The rest will hold up for years upon years as it is 1cm thick sisal where one winding sits tightly on the next. The pole here took me about 90 minutes to wind. It’s totally worth it. It is basically an endless “Mastwurf” or more precisely a Mastwurf with hundreds of “Halbschläge” https://thwiki.org/t=Mastwurf Back when I was still active I was the go-to person for knots in my local THW (federal agency for technical relief, a large german disaster control agency)
