The government’s announcement follows a pledge made by Group of 7 nations at their annual gathering last month to freeze Russian assets until Moscow pays for the damage done in Ukraine.

    Only now the government has earned a couple of years of interest on it all. I’d like to see that windfall paid forward to the people of Ukraine too.
