I haven’t heard about the DEI thing. My understanding is that they want a share of the record profits Costco made last year. Fair compensation for helping Costco get rich(er). It’s literally in the article.
The vote is a direct result of the company’s continued failure to bargain constructively and refusal to present a fair contract offer that reflects the company’s record-breaking profits.
So, I dunno where you got your info from, but striking over DEI doesn’t seem to be relevant to this case. Yes, the workers are happy, and they want to be fairly compensated for their contributions to the profits.
