      Senators are two per state. Ceding territory to Idaho might increaee the amount of representatives they have in the house though as those are based on population… but eastern Oregon is fairly sparse population-wise, hence why the state leans heavy blue

        If eastern Oregon becomes its own state then they get two senators. If they merge with another state, then they don’t.

        It’s likely neither will happen.

          Where were you seeing mention of a new state? The article is about Greater Idaho, which is about moving state lines so eastern Oregon (And eastern WA) becomes part of Idaho.
