I bought this old guy at the local antique shop. It only had superficial rusting that I cleaned up with lemon juice and baking soda. No obvious brand mark anywhere and I am not really all that knowledgable about antique safety razors. Anyone have any clues? I can never seem to get pics to embed right

Edit: Ok current theory based on the information you guys have helped provide: The head is from a gillette old type, and the handle is from a gillette new long comb. I am told the handles would break on occasion.

The head looks authentic to me. Very common to replace the handle of a 3 piece razor if the handle breaks or to make it look different. Lots of companies were making compatible parts.

But it might be another Gillette handle there just aren’t good pictures of on the Internet, they made a lot.

If you look up “gillette new long comb”, the handles are identical. What makes me think the plates might be knockoff is the lack of maker’s mark.

But it does have a valid Gillette stamp code on it. It may just be a Frankenstein.
