Serious question, especially if he goes through with the tariffs on Taiwan: what is the likelihood of electronics prices in EU going down, if any?

Serious question; why would they go down?

Tariffs are not meant to drive down prices, they’re meant to drive UP prices of foreign goods to make domestic ones more competitive.

If US imposes tariffs, China will sell less to the US (if only because not all customers will be able to afford the tariffs). It stands to reason they would want to get rid of this excess somewhere as opposed to getting stuck with unsellable goods ad infinitum. I just wonder if there would be such an excess and if they would “dump” them aliexpress style on the EU market which doesn’t cost them an arm and a leg in tariffs.
