Pretty sure “innocent until proven guilty” has been out the window for decades. How many people are currently locked up before their trial? I can name at least one.
I don’t want to speak against my hero but people have been locked up pretrial for the entire history of the country. I’m not defending the practice really, it’s just innocent until proven guilty refers to the trial part.
