The equatorial location for Somalia makes it an obvious choice for a spaceport but the political instability going back decades is an obvious explanation for why no one’s built it yet. I’m more surprised that one hasn’t been built in Brazil yet.
That does seem like another obvious location. Perhaps Brazil’s proximity to the spaceport in French Guiana makes it unnecessary so far?
