I’m sure this is a common question but when I look at all the different opinions online on various parts I feel a bit overwhelmed at how many options there are and how many people shit on certain options like certain brands, parts, etc. I was wondering around how much I should be saving up to build my first PC, based on my use case,
- I am a computer science masters student, so I run quite a lot of intensive programs (for example the all mighty ram-eater, my lord and savior Jetbrains)
- I love playing video games, I’m down for any, some get intensive, like Monster Hunter, but in general >90% of the time I mostly play modded minecraft, which gets extremley intensive at times, especially if I decide to use shaders, which I’ve never been able to do on my thinkpad.
That’s pretty much it, I’m not super into having extreme graphics, I don’t need to be playing games on really high settings, the gameplay is more important for me, so even shaders and other games, I’d be okay running at not the highest settings.
The reason I get confused is because I don’t know what’s the amount I should be saving up, since there are things I see which are cheaper, but then I don’t know if it’s so cheap it’s not worth it, and I should spend a bit more for much better?
Sorry if the question annoys anyone, because I’m sure it’s common, but I’d appreciate the help.
