Logistics drones /w AI seems like a real solid use. Identifying and avoiding static obstacles while navigating to a set point will be their primary job. Send them to resupply the front line where a truck/driver might get targeted by a drone.
they couldn’t handle a large capacity though. a truck can handle thousands of times the volume
they wouldn’t be much use for ammo or anything heavy like that: they’d pretty much be able to deliver meals and nothing else… perhaps repair parts for small things
i do know that they’ve setup logistics networks in africa with fixed-wing drones to deliver things like blood and medicine to hospitals, so that could be a good use for fixed wing drones - they need range and speed
Gereon RCS is a ground based drone, which can carry 500kg. The AI is needed, as remote controlling it is harder, due to obstacles on the ground making the radio link more difficult.
