      Because people think that the platforms they’re on are representative of the general population.

      Lemmy is by no means representative of the general population.

        I understand echo chambers.

        Just not how someone could have lived in America over the last six months and think people didn’t know this would happen.

        Even if they only interact with other people online, you’d have to be aware that the other side actually exists.
