There is a large amount of rhetoric out there meant to narrow down opinion into more narrow common groups, both for self-ide tity, and for applying to other people. You’re either a tankie or a tech-bro; they’re either a libtard or a maga-nut.
I think a lot of people put too much stock into labeling themselves. I could probably get more specific with my identity but communist is close enough and if we need to get more specific than that we can talk about the specifics about what I actually believe.
I would consider a communist identity if it weren’t for the major examples of communism in application and how poorly people were treated.

Those were not communism, not even socialism. Just state capitalism. Yes, you can consider communism without either of those joke ideologies.
