The opposite problem is just as annoying. Someone insisting on explaining everything about the movie as it’s happening, and causing me to miss dialogue because they won’t shut up. I have eyes, I can watch the movie.
I never talk when watching a movie… unless I’m watching it on my own. If I’m on my own I can do the whole “wtf are they doing?” and laugh and swear and pause to get a snack without having to worry about disturbing anyone.
Watching with company can be nice for the shared experience, but watching alone is good for the unencumbered relaxation.
