I still don’t quite understand where this space IADS is supposed to fit into national security. I suppose the idea is that the US could act with impunity against near peer nuclear powers, but that’s just going to kick off another nuclear arms race. This seems like a really easy way to make self inflicted Kessler syndrome especially since space has been mainly a EW battlefield rather than kinetic.

Who knows what they’ve got cooking. The procurement won’t be done for at least a decade or two, though I wonder what technology today can do that SDI couldn’t in the 80s
