TLDR: I’m sad to report that I will no longer be posting daily comics as I just don’t have the time :( If anyone wants to take over the daily posts, please DM me. Ideally, there would be 2-3 people to split up posting duties to make it easier.
The longer story is, I run my own graphics business which is my regular full-time gig. On top of that, at the beginning of the year. I started my lifelong passion project and created my own comic strip called Bello Bear (https://sh.itjust.works/c/[email protected]). Sadly, there is only so much time in day and running a full-time business, a passion project, and also having some sort of home life at the same time is just not possible.
Even though posting the daily comics is only about a half hour of my time, it adds up. It’s also 7 days a week and though I’m a creature of habit, it is a grind. I would rather dedicate that time to my passion project, which is currently limited to only Mon, Wed, and Friday releases as I’m already stretched thin.

Are you comfortable with handing over the lead mod role for each of the comics? I don’t know all the details, but I think being head mod affects certain mod actions? If you’re up for it, it seems like @[email protected] is taking over the daily posts here, and @[email protected] is taking over [email protected]. I’ve started posting the rest. One caveat is that I don’t think it’s a good idea to make the head mod someone on another instance, because cross-instance moderation actions can get weird sometimes.
Sounds good to me!… It’s so great to have so many great people come together and keep the communities going. This is why I love Lemmy, it’s so unReddit.

Maybe the answer going forward is to encourage everyone to post. We all thank you dearly for the sequential posts on things like Calvin and Hobbes especially, but it may not need to the post order going forward. You have done excellent and dedicated work. The while Fediverse is better for what you’ve done.
Ideally, having several mods and each post on a specific day would make it easier.
Some sort of bot might work for the sequential posts?

This seems like something that a bot could do via the Lemmy API, no? Granted, a number of folks block bot posts.
You are welcome and thank you very much. I’m guessing a bot could do it, but that is certainly not in my wheelhouse of expertise to setup.
It would be mine.
My mind-boggling rate of posting is enabled by my augmenting the process with custom tools I maintain myself.
It’s also how I post to [email protected] which I started inspired by the calvin and hobbes posts. (Though I haven’t yet made it run daily without my intervention, each post only takes a second of my day, zero, when I get around to have it run on its own).
If you have all the strips and their dates stored digitally in some way, I’d be more than happy to help keep the daily posts going, by potentially entirely automating the process.
Right on, I’ll check out Moomin! As to C&H, I do screen caps of the dailies from GoComics https://www.gocomics.com/calvinandhobbes/1988/02/15. If you can automate that would be awesome. Let me know if you want me to add you as a mod.
I hope you find some other people to moderate, as I have already taken on more than enough on that plate (two dozen communities and counting). Sooner or later I’ll be in your position, looking for people to help me mod, rather than being the one offering to mod 😅
But, the short term work of writing a bot to do this and perhaps then even running it for you (indefinitely even) is within reason. If you like, DM me with a way to contact you on discord or matrix. I’d love to hear where you source the comics and dates for all your comics communities.
Perhaps I can make something generic enough that with just some configuration it could work for all your communities.

I unfortunately can’t help with posting, but I want to say a big thanks for all the calvin and hobbes posts! Although I have most of the comics, I don’t take the time to look at them often, and your posts brought a lot of smiles to me!
